International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, has strengthened its commitment to New South Wales (NSW) wine producers.
This has been possible by supporting and participating in a number of key wine industry events, including the ICC Sydney NSW Wine Awards to promote NSW producers or wine makers through its international network.
ICC Sydney’s partnership with the NSW Wine Industry Association, now in its fifth year, builds on the venue’s support for the state’s wine industry as part of its commitment to showcase NSW wine to millions of event attendees that walk through its doors each year. The venue hosted the 2023 ICC Sydney NSW Wine Awards Luncheon, which saw the best winemakers from across NSW awarded trophies for their exceptional wines.
ICC Sydney CEO and ASM plobal (APAC) group director – convention centres Geoff Donaghy said his team is proud to support the NSW Wine Awards and the industry’s emerging and established winemakers and labels. “The diversity and quality of NSW produce remains some of the best in world. In line with our Feeding Your Performance food and beverage philosophy, we are committed to contributing to the performance of our State by featuring 100% NSW wine on our wine lists at ICC Sydney. “We are delighted to celebrate our wine industry’s finest producers and achievements through this powerful platform,” Mr. Donaghy said.
Held at ICC Sydney on 10 November, the Luncheon hosted more than 100 wine makers, industry guests and Margaret Beazley AC QC, covernor of NSW as they came together to celebrate this year’s trophy winners. Judging for the ICC Sydney NSW Wine Awards took place at the venue in October where a team of expert judges, led by Chief Judge Mr Nick Spencer tasted 850 entries from across all of the State’s 16 wine regions. Sixty five wines won gold medals during the judging, with 20 trophies awarded at the luncheon.
