Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (“HML”), as the professional private management and operating company responsible for providing day to day management for the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (“HKCEC”), announced today that it has kicked off a US$3.9 million project to rebuild the entire Wi-Fi system at the HKCEC.
True to it’s theme on “Pressures & Profits”, the programme for this year’s UFI Global Congress is loaded with sessions focused on overcoming obstacles and adapting to change. On August 1, the BRICS Trade Ministers’ meeting 2017 opened in Shanghai. The Chairman of this meeting and Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan presided over the conference and delivered an opening speech. The Minister of Economic Development of Russia Oreshkin, the Minister of Commerce and Industry of India Nirmala Sitharaman, the Minister of Industry and Trade of South Africa Davis and the Vice Minister of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services Marcelo Maia attended the conference.

The 2018 UFI European Conference will be held in Verona, Italy, and hosted by Veronafiere. It will take place from Wednesday, 2 May until Friday, 4 May. The collaboration was agreed upon in a joint meeting between Kai Hattendorf, UFI Managing Director/CEO and Veronafiere President, Maurizio Danese, in Verona at the end of June.

UFI, the global association of the exhibition industry, has appointed Carine Sire to the newly installed role of Regional Manager Europe, based in UFI’s Paris headquarters. UFI created the new position in a drive to strengthen links with its more than 300 European members, raise awareness of Europe-based members and partner associations, and encourage more events professionals to get involved in UFI.
The award ceremony took place on 23 January 2016 at India Expo Mart in Noida.
The association IMTMA won the best award for its flagship Imtex in the
categories of Top Exhibitor Value, Top Global Dominance and the first runner-up
in the Royal Show category. IMTMA’s
latest exhibition – the first edition of Delhi Machine Tool Expo bagged the top
prize in the Top New Show category. Additionally, Bangalore International
Exhibition Centre (BIEC), an entity fully owned and managed by IMTMA, was
conferred Excellence in Services award.

The award was instituted by Exhibition Showcase to honour the Indian exhibition industry for their effort in serving the industry. The nominations were handled by an eminent jury comprising of professionals from exhibition industry.
The awards ceremony was graced by exhibition organizers, venue owners, service providers from across India. Exhibition Excellence awards win adds another feather to IMTMA’s cap.
