Bespoke education and insights designed for different audiences within the business events community is set to be launched by the IMEX Group. Specialist programmes for corporate, association and agency buyers launch in April while general sessions, which are open to all, start this month (March).
The content of the specialist sessions will be guided
by the IMEX Group’s 12 business commitments for the year. Each will cover
topical and tailored themes including: Purposeful Recovery; Collaboration,
Connections & Community; Nature; Extreme innovation; The Circular Economy
and Better Tech Experiences. These events pick up on the legacy of IMEX’s live,
in-person shows where traditionally each of these audiences has their own
private forum.
Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group, explains: “The
role and purpose of our education programming at IMEX is to deliver practical
learnings and insights designed to help all members of our industry community
to move with the times. We’ve worked closely with various corporate,
association and agency groups over the past few months to craft this extensive
online programme of specialist events tailored to current needs. Obviously,
these needs changed significantly in 2020 and will continue to do so as our
sector begins its recovery and live shows return.”
Up close and personal exploration of ‘Allyship’
The specialist education is complemented by a series
of general education sessions beginning this month, each exploring an industry
issue in detail. The first in the series, taking place on 24 March,
will take a deep dive into Allyship with members of IMEX’s own Diversity Equity
& Inclusion squad introducing keynote speaker Rachel Rosen, founder of
S.P.A.R.K. Allyship is about building relationships of trust, consistency and
accountability with marginalised individuals or groups. Rachel is ‘on a mission
to spark awareness and conversation around unconscious bias and how we engage
with people who are different to us’. She is set to share her warmth, humour
and personal experience, detailing how to listen, support, self-reflect and
change.
Carina continues: “We now live in a time when agility, adaptability and the willingness to keep learning is paramount for job security and, ultimately, economic productivity. We’ve designed our education to deliver the latest learnings and also bring together the different ‘tribes’ of our business event community in advance of being able to meet face to face at IMEX America in November. This is an exciting moment for us, and for the industry, as we step out together on the road to Mandalay Bay.”
Registration details for the Allyship session on March
24 will be announced later this week. The IMEX Group is set to expand its 2021
portfolio of digital experiences and value-added services for the global
meetings and events industry. Further announcements are planned in the next two
weeks.
IMEX America takes place 9 – 11 November at its new home of Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Smart Monday, powered by MPI, is on 8 November (www.imexexhibitions.com).
