The General Assembly of the association of the German trade fair industry, AUMA, elected Mario Tobias to the Board of Directors at its annual meeting in Berlin, on 13 June.
The 52-year-old Tobias has been CEO of Messe Berlin since September 2023. Before joining Messe Berlin he was head of the Potsdam Chamber of Industry Commerce, and has held prior positions with Germany’s digital association bitkom and the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS).
Klaus D. Kremers, managing partner of Paradies, was
re-elected as 2nd deputy AUMA chair for another three years’ term. Since 1997,
he has been a member of the AUMA Board of Directors, representing textil + mode
- the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry, and has been
holding the position of 2nd deputy chair since 2003.
Resigning from the AUMA Board of Directors is Jelto Hendriok, CEO of Straub,
who served on the board on behalf of the German Chemical Industry Association.
Martin Buhl-Wagner (Leipziger Messe), Jochen Köckler (Deutsche Messe), Henning
Könicke, (trade fairs and exhibitions association FAMA), Klaus D. Kremers
(Paradies GmbH) and Ulrich Reifenhäuser (Reifenhäuser) were all re-elected to
the Board of Directors.
Freiburg Wirtschaft Messe und Touristik and Messe Augsburg have become new
members of AUMA. The association of the German trade fair industry counts 67
members, including 30 associations of the exhibiting and visiting industry as
well as service associations, and 37 exhibition organisers.
