Christian Mutschlechner, the former CEO of the Vienna Convention Bureau and ICCA President, has joined the board of jwc in Germany as of March 1st, 2022.
Having worked in various positions for PCOs as well as
convention bureaus,
Christian has an exceptionally successful career in
the global conference
industry. From 1991 to 2019 he was CEO of the Vienna
Convention Bureau; in
this role he was instrumental in developing Vienna to
one of the leading
conference destinations globally. From 2009 to 2019
Christian was president
of the Austrian Convention Bureau, from 2001 – 2003 president
of the
European Federation of Conference Towns and from 2002
– 2006 president
of ICCA, the International Congress and Convention
Association. Christian
holds large number of awards in the industry, amongst
them the “Meeting
Industry Personality of the Year 2011 Award”, the
“IBTM World Lifetime
Achievement Award 2016” and the “Joint Meeting
Industry Council
Unity Award 2010”.
Christian’s responsibilities within jwc will be to
support jwc’s clients in the
areas of growth strategy, product development and
organization. Christian
will also be involved in talent development, coaching
and training with jwc’s
