The UFI Global Congress is set to become an unforgettable experience. AsiaWorld-Expo will be showcasing its merits as a good host in a variety of ways.
When the UFI delegates come together in Hong Kong from 19 to 22 November, they will not just be celebrating 100 years of UFI. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE). The world’s most significant annual event for the exhibition industry will function as an important gateway for an international exchange with China’s own exhibition industry. AWE will be presenting its dual strengths as a professional MICE venue and inter-cultural gateway. Business networking will be combined with immersive cultural experiences, thus offering delegates an event with a uniquely Hong Kong flavour. The host country session on 20 November, entitled Gateway to Growth: Unleashing Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, is expected to be a highlight. Greater Bay Area (GBA) industry leaders, venue operators and experts will outline the enormous potential of this market, which is one of Asia’s most dynamic and rapidly growing regions. The session will highlight innovation, foster collaboration and reveal new business opportunities.
As an international metropolis where East meets West, Hong Kong will use this as an opportunity to showcase its charm and cultural riches from a variety of perspectives. To give delegates a flavour of Hong Kong’s vibrant culture, there will be a dedicated Cultural Corner at the venue, offering delegates an immersive experience centred around three key themes: culinary delights, artisanal crafts and cultural experiences. The ambience will draw inspiration from Hong Kong’s pulsating lifestyle, with the focus on the local cuisine and creativity. During the networking lunch, master chefs will host live demonstrations and reveal the secrets of how to make dim sum. The Cultural Corner will also offer daily activities and performances during breaks. Every UFI delegate will receive exclusive welcome gifts – adding a touch of local artistic flair to the event. These will include individually designed souvenirs made by a well-known local illustrator and a limited-edition Octopus card (Hong Kong’s public transport card).
The traditional congress gala
dinner will be held in the M+ Museum, Asia’s premier museum of contemporary
visual culture. Delegates will enjoy an evening featuring neon art, nostalgic
snacks, cross-genre music and offering breathtaking panoramic views of Victoria
Harbour. 2025 also marks the 85th anniversary of the birth of martial arts
legend Bruce Lee. To commemorate the occasion, the Hong Kong Dance Company has
been invited for a performance. This will present Lee’s martial arts philosophy
and spirit through a dynamic fusion of strength and grace. AsiaWorld-Expo has a
grand finale planned on 21st November: a special party on a heritage tram. In a
relaxed evening breeze, guests will be able to enjoy fine wine, experience Hong
Kong’s dynamic urban development and soak up its nightlife.
