Exhibitor E.on and stand builder Forum Your Brandbuilder made a green statement for the future of freight traffic at the number one logistics trade show.
E-mobility – a topic that takes centre stage in the passenger car sector. However, in the logistics industry with its heavy goods traffic a trend towards electric drives is becoming increasingly apparent. Nevertheless, there is not much public awareness of 44-tonne e-tech tractor units. Yes, they certainly cause a stir. That's why some visitors at IAA Transportation 2024 in Hanover may have been amazed at the E.on stand - suddenly finding themselves in a densely planted environment dominated by cars and technology. Among all the greenery, the energy supplier E.on presented its latest e-charging stations with customers from the vehicle and freight forwarding industry. Booth designer Michael Chrystal describes E.on’s presence as the green lung at IAA.
A round green
ceiling dangler served as an eye-catcher. It featured the logos not only of E.on
but also of companies such as DHL, MAN and DB Schenker. Spilling from the
dangler, lush greenery enveloped the stand, which was encircled by a half-open
wall planted with grasses. The highlight of the stand and main exhibit was the
electricity provider's latest ultra-fast charging modules. “E.on's role in this
initiative is clearly defined: The company provides the necessary
infrastructure for a problem-free future of e-lorries,” explains Michael
Chrystal. He is managing director of the booth builder Forum Your Brandbuilder,
which designed and constructed E.on’s presence. The concept was to create a
platform for sharing ideas about e-mobility in freight transport: an open
meeting place for discussions, news and the future of e-transport. “The
charging infrastructure demonstrated at the stations is essential for making
the vision of green freight transport a reality. This is what bridges the gap
between vision and realisation,” says Michael Chrystal.
Sustainability
took centre stage for the stand design by Forum Your Brandbuilder. The entire
concept was developed to reflect E.on's values and ambitions for a greener
future. All building materials were modular and fully reusable. “A clear symbol
of the circular economy and ecological responsibility,” says Michael Chrystal.
However, the stand was not only intended to symbolise the technology, but also
the commitment to a sustainable future. Every aspect - from building materials
to green accents, underscored the goal of climate-friendly freight transport.
As a special highlight, E.on staged its “E.on Drive eTruckathon”, a rally for e-lorries. Eleven teams completed the 300-kilometre route from the E.on Drive TestingLab in Essen to the exhibition venue in Hanover in different vehicles, an impressive way to show that sustainable freight transport and heavy goods traffic on the road are not just a vision but already a reality. “The truck event and Green Lung stand were more than just a trade fair presentation. They brought together people with ideas and visions for the future of freight transport, for the mobility of tomorrow," says Michael Chrystal (www.fybb.de).

In the event world, it’s simply part of life if things don’t work out as planned.
Networking typically happens at real, in-person events. But it’s also possible to do it online; it just works a little differently. There are various options available to organisers.
New products and a well-conceived stand design are not the only drivers for a successful presence. Many other factors are also important, but trade fair planners often lose sight of them.
Trade fairs and trade fair companies need to constantly further develop, become more agile and flexible and offer services all year round. New, digital offerings are very important here. With its TrustedTargeting technology, Messe München offers its customers access to leading business-to-business decision-makers on the Internet.
